I wholeheartedly believe that this short deserves all the love it's been getting, the amount of time and care you put into your craft is especially on display with every frame of this
I was wondering if the song being played was an original as well but lo and behold there it is right there in the credits!!
you continue to impress, Max, you really do! I'm blaming you for it inevitably getting stuck in my head too >:P
amazing work man, and that little breakdown with the sketchier dirtier linework? had to be my very favourite part, there's just so much to appreciate and it helps convey or possibly elevate the emotions the character is feeling so well

I left a long-ass comment on Youtube for this awesome short so I'll try and keep my review here short (apologies in advance because I can't put words together worth shit) but all in all watching this after having watched Introducing Debbie Sparks was a real experience
I could tell Be My Friend was meant to be taken a lot less seriously, but that didn't take away from it at all!
it still had a lot of impact with what it had going on and I really gotta appreciate that! while it had that humour it also had the very real feeling of longing in it, the hope that maybe someone, *anyone* on the other line may be safe or at least sane to talk to and possibly kindle a relationship with
unfortunately we didn't get that though, and that's a little more real than others would expect it to be :<
